St Mary the Virgin, Horne

St Mary’s was built in the 12th century and retains a little of the building from that time. It was significantly altered during the Victorian period, and worship has continued here for over 800 years.

inSPIREup: St Mary’s Horne Spire Appeal

The spire at St Mary’s, Horne, which has stood for nearly 150 years, requires significant repairs. Following a full survey, the total project cost has been estimated at £172,000.

The church is contributing £50,000 from its reserves. We are seeking to raise £25,000 through this appeal, with the remainder to be met through grant funding, which is being actively pursued.

Progress to date includes:

  • Permissions process started with the Diocese.
  • Architects’ specification completed.
  • Tender submissions received from heritage contractors.

Donations of any size are welcome, and full Gift Aid and giving information is available in our campaign leaflet, which can be downloaded here or is available at St Mary’s Horne.
