Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee;
Holy, holy, holy! – merciful and mighty,
God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
Which wert, and art, and evermore shall be.

Holy, holy, holy! – though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye made blind by sin thy glory may not see;
Only Thou art holy, there is none beside Thee,
Perfect in pow’r, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God almighty!
All Thy works shall praise Thy name, in earth, and sky, and sea:
Holy, holy, holy! – merciful and mighty,
God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

Reginald Heber (1783-1826)
Tune: Nicaea, John Dykes (1823-1876)

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Amen.

Grace, mercy and peace from God our Father
and the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
And also with you.

God the Father forgives us in Christ
and heals us by the Holy Spirit;
let us therefore put away all bitterness,
all slander and malice,
and confess our sins to God our Redeemer.

Father, you come to meet us when we return to you:
Lord, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.

Jesus, you died on the cross for our sins:
Christ, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.

Spirit, you give us life and peace:
Lord, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.

Absolution
Almighty God,
who forgives all who truly repent,
have mercy upon you,
pardon and deliver you from all your sins,
confirm and strengthen you in all goodness,
and keep you in life eternal;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

The Collect for Trinity Sunday
Almighty and everlasting God,
you have given us your servants grace,
by the confession of a true faith,
to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity
and in the power of the divine majesty to worship the Unity:
keep us steadfast in this faith,
that we may evermore be defended from all adversities;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.
Amen.

Talk
by Revd Alan Bayes

The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.

Almighty and eternal God,
you have revealed yourself as Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
and live and reign in the perfect unity of love;
hold us firm in this faith,
that we may know you in all your ways,
and evermore rejoice in your eternal glory,
who are three persons yet one god,
now and for ever.
Amen.

Blessing
God the Father, who loved us,
and made us accepted in the beloved Son, bless you;
God the Son who loved us,
and washed us from our sins in his own blood, bless you;
God the Holy Spirit, who sheds abroad
the love of God in our hearts, bless you;
and may the blessing of the one true God,
to whom be all love and all glory
for time and for eternity,
come down upon you,
and remain with you always.
Amen.

Go in the peace of Christ.
Thanks be to God.

How shall I sing that majesty which angels do admire?
Let dust in dust and silence lie; sing, sing, ye heav’nly choir.
Thousands of thousands stand around Thy throne,
O God most high;
Ten thousand times ten thousand sound Thy praise;
but who am I?

Thy brightness unto them appears, whilst I Thy footsteps trace;
A sound of God comes to my ears, but they behold Thy face.
They sing because Thou art their Sun;
Lord, send a beam on me;
For where heaven is but once begun there alleluyas be.

Enlighten with faith’s light my heart, inflame it with love’s fire;
Then shall I sing and bear a part with that celestial choir.
I shall, I fear, be dark and cold, with all my fire and light;
Yet when Thou dost accept their gold,
Lord, treasure up my mite.

How great a being, Lord, is thine, which doth all beings keep!
Thy knowledge is the only line to sound so vast a deep.
Thou art a sea without a shore, a sun without a sphere;
Thy time is now and evermore, thy place is ev’rywhere.
